About

Marcus was born in Brisbane, Australia, in September 1986, and lived in south-east coast New South Wales for most of his young life. It was in third grade, thanks to the keen eye and support of an awesome and inspiring teacher, he discovered his passion for writing, and all things horror.

He published his first short story with Deadset Press in 2018 in their Beginnings anthology, called “A Spark of Youth”, a tale inspired by the passing of his beloved grandmother, Nita. Since then, Marcus has published seven more short stories in various indie anthologies; a post-apocalyptic novella called Tides of War, part of Deadset Press’s Drowned Earth shared-universe series with seven other Australian authors; and a poetry collection, called Bright Skies, Long Shadows.

Marcus has a B Arts in Professional Writing and Publishing with Curtin University. By day, he works as a manager at a well-known bookstore chain.

A dedicated horror aficionado, Marcus is also an enthusiastic gamer, a raving metal-head and an omnivorous, voracious reader. He may be a little too obsessed with all things Cthulhu, grisly science and occult topics, the apocalyptic hubris of mankind, and the inevitable heat death of the universe.

Marcus lives with bipolar II disorder. He frequently explores both sides of sanity and madness in his horror work, along with his podcast Letters From The Edge, returning later in 2025 for a second season.

He currently lives in Melbourne, Australia, with his two children.
